The SeaTec System

 Generic Fault-finding

The electrical systems in modern yachts, are very complex and effective fault finding needs to be undertaken

by a specialist marine electrical engineer. SeaTec offers a generic fault finding service that will quickly and

accurately locate the fault and suggest the best way to rectify the problem. If possible, subject to the

availability of parts and client approval, we will schedule your vessel to repair the fault.

Electrical Surveys

SeaTec can conduct on your behalf, comprehensive impartial electrical surveys on all aspects of electrical

engineering on board. This might include, ABYC and USCG regulations items, switchboard operations and

inspections or insulation surveys. We can survey the general electrical state of a vessel or concentrate

purely on an electrical safety report. We can also carry out surveys in view to alterations or additions to

the existing installation.

Specification and Drawing Preparation

Vessel owners can benefit from our service offering independently written, comprehensive specifications

and drawings, whether for maintenance, dry-dockings, upgrades, refits, or new builds. This allows you

the owner to send your exact requirements to the contractor or shipyard, which in turn can respond with

greater speed and accuracy in their estimates or quotes. The drawings will be professionally produced

covering anything from one-line diagrams, schematics, equipment arrangements, listings, through to

detailed manufacturing drawings.

Electrical Equipment and Systems Commissioning

At this critical time in a project, SeaTec will work for you to ensure that all new and altered equipment

and systems are properly commissioned and thoroughly tested, to all the relevant rules, regulations

and requirements.

Material Sourcing

If you are having difficulty locating replacement parts or equipment SeaTec can help. Using our database

of contacts and suppliers nationally and internationally we can do the detective work for you; we can

even offer obsolete circuit board repairs or replacements if required.

Owners Representative

We can act on your behalf as the owners representative, freeing up your marina or boat yard from the

electrical part of a project, allowing them to concentrate on their own specialist areas. SeaTec has the

experience and qualifications necessary to supervise all the electrical work and arbitrate between various

parties such as ship yard, contractors and manufacturers. To ensure that the requirements of you the

owner, classification society, flag state, and USCG regulations are met to consistently high standards.

Vessel Riding Electrician

Why wait until vessels are in dock? We can provide an experienced, qualified vessel riding marine electrician.

We can carry out maintenance, repairs, faultfinding, and surveys, while your vessel is at sea.

Electrical Project Management

We can successfully manage your projects from conception to completion. Carrying out all of the relevant

phases from initial surveys, liaising with owners, shipyards, contractors and manufacturers, through

specification, drawing preparation, and overseeing the installations, and commissioning.

Electrical Training

A large number of vessels no longer carry electrical officers, and rely on the senior marine engineers to

carry out electrical faultfinding, repairs and minor installations. Many marine engineers admit that their

electrical skills are lacking especially at faultfinding.

SeaTec can offer training either at sea or in shore-based classes, giving the engineers practical tips on

electrical safety, classification society regulations and good electrical practices. We can also conduct

training in faultfinding, and safe minor repair, alteration and installation procedures.
